"Offered a fake deal We received a call from someone claiming to be from SKY and offering us reduction in the cost of our subscription package. The caller took some details from my wife, before passing the call over to the 'Closer' who said that we would receive something in the post. He also sent to her phone, an e-mail. At this point, I heard what was going on and we ended the call when I said that it was a scam. I then looked at the SKY website and contacted SKY on their helpline number. Explaining what had happened, the SKY call handler was able to confirm that we had not received a call from SKY and that this was a scam. He logged the details that I gave him, for a report. I forwarded the number this call came from, to 7726. We deleted the fake e-mail that was received and blocked the number."
