By accessing or using CallerCheck ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CallerCheck UK ("we", "us", "our"). We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By using CallerCheck, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

CallerCheck is a free, community-driven phone number lookup service that helps UK residents identify unknown callers and protect themselves from phone scams. Our Service includes:

• Phone number lookups: Search for information about UK phone numbers based on community reports.
• Community reports: Submit and view reports about phone numbers from other users.
• Spam scores: View aggregated spam likelihood scores based on user reports.
• Educational content: Guides and resources about phone safety and scam prevention.

When using CallerCheck, you agree not to:

We reserve the right to remove any content, block any user, and take appropriate legal action against anyone who violates these Terms.

Reporting objectionable content. Every published report has a Report option, on this website and in the CallerCheck iPhone app. Our moderators review flagged reports within 24 hours and remove anything abusive, offensive, misleading or containing personal details. A report flagged by several people is hidden until it has been reviewed. You can also contact us at any time through our contact page.

When you submit a report or comment ("User Content") to CallerCheck, you:

• Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content in connection with the Service.
• Represent that your User Content is accurate and based on your genuine experience.
• Acknowledge that your User Content may be visible to other users and the public.
• Accept that we may moderate, edit, or remove User Content at our discretion.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. We do not endorse any User Content and expressly disclaim any liability arising from it.

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, is owned by CallerCheck UK and is protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or exploit any part of the Service without our prior written consent, except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

The CallerCheck name and logo are trademarks of CallerCheck UK. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

We specifically disclaim:

• Accuracy of information: We do not verify user-submitted reports. Information may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.
• Spam score reliability: Spam scores are calculated from user reports and may not reflect the true nature of a phone number.
• Service availability: We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service.
• Third-party content: We are not responsible for content on external websites linked from our Service.

You use the Service at your own risk. We recommend verifying important information through official sources before making decisions based on data from CallerCheck.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CallerCheck UK and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
• Damages arising from any User Content or third-party content
• Damages arising from unauthorised access to or alteration of your data

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also be entitled to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform, available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you should stop using the Service.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically for any changes.

CallerCheck PRO is an optional subscription in the CallerCheck iPhone app. Checking numbers and reporting calls stay free for everyone, on this website and in the app.

• What it includes. Blocking of numbers rated as scams, your own block list, notifications when a number you watch is reported, and more frequent updates of the warning list. We may add to or improve these features over time.
• Buying and paying. PRO is sold through Apple's App Store as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. The price, including VAT, is shown in the app before you subscribe, and payment is taken by Apple from your Apple Account.
• Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts and you're charged at the end of the trial.
• Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If the price ever changes, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask you to agree to it.
• Cancelling. Cancel at any time in your iPhone's Settings (tap your name, then Subscriptions) or with Manage subscription in the app. PRO stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, then stops renewing.
• Refunds. Apple handles all payments, so refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
• Family Sharing. If you use Apple's Family Sharing, members of your family group can use your PRO subscription too.
• What blocking can do. Blocking works through iOS and only once caller ID is switched on in Settings. It's based on reports from the public, so we can't promise that every scam or nuisance call will be stopped, or that a number rated as a scam will never be a genuine caller. You can switch blocking off and unblock numbers at any time.

Apple's standard licence terms for apps also apply to the CallerCheck app, alongside these Terms.
