It had fooled mum who took the call on her phone and believed it was real and passed the phone onto me. It was trying to sell an energy deal and said it could put me in touch with a real person. The only give away was that I could still hear it speaking as mum passed the phone to me. It wasn’t aware of the nuances of conversation after being told to ‘hang on a tick while I pass you over’."

"01678414136 - unwanted phone call (I'm signed up to the TPS service so shouldn't receive any calls about selling stuff) , an indian women called me 3/7/2026 at 14:51 , spoke very bad english , claimed to be from British Gas selling gas boiler cover , she said all i needed to do was give her my bank sort code and account number to set up . at this point i just laughed and she said "beware of the light" . i believe she meant to say "beware of the dark" in an attempt to scare me . what made me laugh was i dont have a gas boiler and it was very clear she was reading from a very poorly made script , at this point she hung up"
