AI Summary
Based on 5 community reports
This London number is generating mixed reactions, with several reports suggesting potential scams impersonating BT. Callers claim to be from "BT head office" or "BT" and insist that upgrades are needed to avoid service disruption. A common tactic is creating a sense of urgency or pushing for information about your phone setup. Be wary of callers demanding immediate action or refusing to provide details. Although one user reported a positive experience, the multiple accounts of pushy and suspicious behaviour should raise your guard. It's best to independently verify any claims by contacting BT directly through their official channels.

5 totalA nice guy named Adam from BT helped us with moving from analogue to digital. All the problems we had before are gone.
Said they were from BT "who own and manage the lines" - but they don't... That's Openreach, who are now separate from BT. Had wrong info about our phone line (even though we're with BT) and pushed to know the make and how many VoIP phones we had... Then hung up - they called back straight away.
A really polite but pushy guy named Adam rang from this number and said my broadband and phone lines needed upgrading or they would get cut off. I think this was a scam
A man said he was from BT head office in London. He claimed that BT had a contract with the government to remove or replace phone lines and if we didn't act, we would lose the ability to make outgoing calls. He wouldn't provide his surname when I asked. He got rude and demanding, so I hung up on him.
Said he was from BT head office. When I pressed him, he wouldn't share who he was, just kept saying he was calling from BT head office, saying local businesses wouldn't know because they're not the wholesaler. It felt suspicious and rude. When I asked more (since BT had confirmed earlier that I had no works scheduled), he hung up on me.
