AI Summary
Based on 1 community report
This London number, routed through DIDWW Ireland, has been reported as a bank fraud impersonation scam. The caller, claiming to be "Joseph" from a "Bank Fraud Authority," targets landline users with warnings about suspicious account activity. A key red flag is the evasive behaviour when challenged, plus the immediate callback to the victim claiming the caller had been contacted—despite no personal details being shared. The scammer also instructed the victim not to tell anyone, a classic isolation tactic. Lloyds confirmed the caller was not genuine. This is a sophisticated social engineering attack designed to build false credibility and panic. If you receive similar calls, hang up immediately and contact your bank directly using the number on your card or statement. Never discuss banking details with unsolicited callers, regardless of what authority they claim to represent.

'Joseph' called my father several times on his land line and claimed to be from some Bank Fraud Authority investigating suspicious bank activity. When I called them they were quite evasive and then immediately called my father saying that I had contacted them (even though I didnt give them my name or my father's name. They also told him that there was a lot of suspicious activity in his town and that he wasn't to tell anyone about this. My father called the Lloyds fraud line who confirmed that the caller was not genuine.

Safety score
1 reportHow this score was worked out
Each report rates the number as safe, unknown, suspicious or spam. The score combines those ratings, giving more weight to clear scams, and each person counts once. A number only reaches high risk once several people have independently reported it. Scores of 70% and above count as high risk, 40% to 69% as medium, and below 40% as low; a low-risk number reads Maybe Safe once someone reports it as safe. More about spam scores
