AI Summary
Based on 11 community reports
This Manchester number on TalkTalk Communications is running a solar panel scam. Multiple reports describe callers falsely claiming to represent various companies like CS Energy, Shine Solar, and Clearsky, warning about fake error codes on solar panel inverters and offering to send engineers for free inspections. The tactics are consistent: callers claim to monitor your system remotely, pressure you into agreeing to a visit, and hang up when questioned. Several people have confirmed they don't even own solar panels, yet still received these calls. The scammers appear to be using different company names, likely to avoid detection. Don't engage with these calls—legitimate solar companies won't contact you unsolicited about faults. Hang up immediately and block the number.

Said they were from CS Energy saying they picked up a fault code while monitoring my solar panel invertor and needed to send an engineer. Nobody monitors them, it's a SCAM. I told them to go F* themselves and they hung up!
called for a bit, but no answer after I picked up the phone
no answer when i picked up the phone
She kept asking if I could hear her ok. When I asked her name she just hung up. Scam call.
"Error code" on my solar panels apparently. I let her go on for a while, then she told me that they could visit tomorrow. When I mentioned that I would be at work, she said she would write that down. I told her that she should also write down that I had the solar panels removed last July!
They put the phone down when I asked who it was
Problem with my solar panels that I dont have and never have had.
Got a call. They said they were Shine Solar, phoning about solar panel maintenance. They told me our panels showed an error. They wanted to send someone to check them for free. We called the company who fitted our panels and they said it was a scam!
Got a call from a lady saying she was from Clearsky, telling me there were error codes on their monitoring system. I've never worked with this company and can't find anything about them as a solar monitoring agency. I think this is a pretty new scam that's been set up.
Caller (who said they were ClearSky) said they had found a possible problem with our solar system. The people who put the system in told us they didn't know anyone called that and didn't use other firms to check or fix it, and that the system looked ok.
Lady called about solar panels showing an 'error code'. Said I needed to check with my husband for a good time for an engineer to come, and I'd call her back. She hung up!!
