I hung up immediately, called EE who ran a check to see if they had indeed contacted me today. They had not. The customer service agent from EE put a notice out to all other agents that this is a bogus number and a scam call."

"I didn't answer because I didn't recognise the number but it kept ringing and overode the answerphone which usually kicks in after 6 rings. This number didn't stop ringing until I picked up and ended the call. It rang back immediately but there was no-one there. A different number rang shortly afterwards and the answerphone worked again."
