"It connected and they hung up after 3 seconds. I think it was a normal robo call (lots of numbers are called all at once, and one is picked after the person says hello). They record your hello and then know which numbers work for future scams. Block the number and report it."

They still tried to ring after that, as it showed on my phone. Today I got a call from unknown, and when I answered, it was them again! I told them I wasn't interested and will use my own solicitor. Will report if they call again."

"Called saying they were from Octopus Energy about something to do with the meter. I asked for the department and extension number to call them back through the main number - they said they didn't have a contact extension... so I said.... bye!"
"Text message claiming to be from Tesco about points running out with a link to click for more info. Link wasn't a proper Tesco URL. Got sent to a number that Tesco doesn't normally use for messages. Number comes from Telephonica in Reading where lots of scams seem to come from."
