"Scammer left an automated voice message on my answerphone about a "payment verification" from "Fraud Prevention Team", wanting me to press 1 if I didn't ask for a payment of £780. No bank name mentioned. Clearly fake, since no bank has the number they called me on."

"Another energy scammer, another fail by the government & the overpaid but totally useless OFCOM to deal with this intrusive dangerous & persistent crime. OFCOM are able to stop non illegal tweets but cant protect vulnerable people from energy scammers. I am with TPS but that does not work since my phone line went digital. 
 
 This needs to be stopped! Fed up with having to write these reports. What are the agencies doing with all the calls being reported - seemingly NOTHING! Just taking taxpayers money.

"they pretend to be some "uni applicants thing". they then sell fake tickets to freshers events which don't actually happen slash if they do happen, they are really bad/overpriced. they populate fake uni groupchats with fake accounts that say they are going to buy tickets in order to pressure you into also buying tickets. they also try to make it look as official as possible. do not buy any freshers tickets"
