Crypto Scam Text (Fake HMRC, Exchange Alert)
Text messages about cryptocurrency, sent to your mobile out of the blue. They pose as HMRC asking you to declare crypto, as an exchange warning of a hacked account, or as support offering to help recover lost coins. Every version wants you to tap a link, ring a number, or hand over a wallet recovery phrase.

- Hang up and call the organisation on their official number
- Report the call to help protect others
Don't
- Give out personal or financial information
- Feel pressured to act quickly or make instant decisions
- Trust caller ID — numbers can be spoofed
